HAMMOND – One person was killed following a fiery crash late Friday night on NYS Hwy. 37.
State police are investigating the one-car fatal motor vehicle that occurred about 11 p.m.
Police said their preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was eastbound when it failed to negotiate a slight right curve, left the north shoulder of the roadway, traveled down an embankment striking a rock grouping, rolled several times and became totally engulfed in flames.
The identity of the victim has yet to be positively determined and the investigation is continuing, police said.
St. Lawrence County Coroner James Sienkiewycz responded and Hammond Fire/Rescue assisted at the scene.
