Ogdensburg City Council to hold special meeting tonight, Dec. 28

OGDENSBURG — Ogdensburg City Council will hold a special meeting tonight, Dec. 28, for where they will make appointments, designate official newspapers and consider a contract with Gray and Gray accounting.

The city will also vote on a lease to Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for office space at city hall.

The proposed lease would run from Jan. 3, 2023 to Jan. 2025 and includes an option to renew.

The city will act on a resolution that would set a public hearing Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. to discuss a change to Parks ordinance.

The city will name its official newspapers, the current resolution calls for using the Watertown Daily Times, Ogdensburg Journal and North Country This Week.

The city is also expected to designate its depositories with Community Bank, NBT Bank, Upstate National Bank, Key Bank of Northern New York and NYCLASS through Public Trust Advisors slated for approval.

The city will also consider entering into an agreement that would pay Gray and Gray Associates $115,000 for accounting services.

Angela Gray currently serves as the City Comptroller under an existing agreement that’s set to expire.

Her duties would include assisting in monthly closing process of the general ledger

• Ongoing support and assistance in the Comptroller's office

• Preparation of the 2022 Annual Update Document (AUD)

• Assist in preparation workpapers related to the 2022 financial

statements and single audit (if necessary) of the City of Ogdensburg

• Preparation of the 2022 Financial Summary Report for City Council

• Assistance with the 2024 annual budget preparation, to include an updated annual budget document

• Bi-weekly payroll services to include tax payments and filings, and annual reporting.

• Other special projects as determined/assigned

• Availability to meet with the City Council on an as needed basis

• Communicating with NYSOSC and other City partners to answer questions related to City finances
