AKWESASNE - Officials have announced the unofficial St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Election results.
Summer Bero was named unofficial winner with 427 total votes, compared to Jamie Ross with 143 votes. Several other tallied single digit votes.
The tribe reported Eric Thompson as the unofficial chief with 271 votes. Write-in Ronald LaFrance Jr. came in a close second with 247 votes.
Lastly, residents voted Benjamin Herne as the unofficial sub-chief with 502 votes. Cheryl Jacobs garnered 12 votes for second place and several others have single digit votes.
