NORWOOD -- Norwood Village Police arrested a Norwood resident for grand larceny, related to the theft of a motor vehicle.

Norwood police charged Stephen E. Ashley, Jr.,30, with fourth-degree grand larceny, felony.

Police said an investigation revealed Ashley stole a pickup truck. The theft reportedly took place after Ashley gave the pickup truck to another person, but then fraudulently filed paperwork with the Department of Motor Vehicles to get a new title for the pickup. When the fraudulent title was issued he then took the truck away from the victim, officers said.

The truck has reportedly been recovered, and returned to the rightful owner.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.

Ashley is slated to appear in Potsdam court at a later date.
