CANTON - David K. Nelson was appointed to the Canton Town Board on Thursday. Nelson will fill the seat vacated by Timothy Danehy earlier this year.
Other town appointments included Matthew Scafidi-McGuire as chair of the town’s Zoning Board of Appeals, and Dr. David Murphy to the town’s Complete Streets task force.
Town officials are also looking for someone to fill a soon-to-be vacant seat on the Board of Assessment Review. Debbie Gilson will be stepping down in the near future.
Anyone interested in serving on any board or committee is asked to contact Town Supervisor Mary Ann Ashley at mashley@cantonny.gov or call 315-386-2962.
In another town matter, the town assessor’s office will hold a Grievance Day on May 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome or people can send the grievance form available online to the Board of Assessment Review.
