North Country This Week
CANTON – Have you had an inkling to perform on stage or become immersed in community theater?
If so, now is the time to entertain that desire by joining the Grasse River Players, Canton’s community theater group.
Interested actors and actresses should plan a visit to the Canton Free Library on Saturday, June 10, at 4:30 p.m., to witness a brief meeting to elect new GRP board members, then enjoy a live murder mystery and try to figure out “who committed murder in the library.”
All are welcome, free of charge, and light refreshments will be served.
“A brief meeting to elect new board members and officers, snacks, the chance to have your suggestions for future show-planning heard, theater tickets for a door prize, and the answer to that burning question we all want to know: Who did it? And, Who was Murdered in the Library?,” a Facebook post reads. “Bring $5 cash for GRP membership dues for the 2023/24 year, and bring a friend. It won't take much longer than an hour, and please feel free to share.”
GRP is also looking for people of all ages to help design and build stage sets, manage lights and sound, publicize upcoming events, sell and collect tickets, and design costumes. Again, if interested attend the June 10 event.
