MASSENA -- The Massena Chamber of Commerce is trying to get the downtown area spruced up through an HGTV show.
The cable show is called “Home Town Takeover” and is hosted by Ben and Erin Napier. They are looking for entire towns to make over.
Massena Chamber Director Nate LaShomb is looking for community members to record video pitches for why Massena deserves to be chosen.
Anyone who wants to do a video but doesn’t have the means can go to the Chamber office, 16 Church St., between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and they’ll help create one at the office. Classic photos of the downtown’s booming years may also help Massena’s case.
People can also leave a comment on the GHTV Twitter page (@hgtv) about why Massena deserves the makeover.
Entries can be sent via Facebook Messenger to the Chamber’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/massenachamber/), the “Chamber Dude” Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/chamberdude/) or by email to info@massenachamber.com. The deadline is Jan. 27.
The six-episode special is slated to air next year.
