An active day of weather is expected today as a deepening low pressure system moves through the St. Lawrence Valley, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Expect gusty winds and rain over the North Country today, along with a few thunderstorms with locally strong winds, NWS says.

The high will be near 60 with winds of 15-20 miles per hour and gusts as high as 33 mph, the service says. The overnight low will be around 39

On Thursday, winds will decrease, but remain brisk, and rain will retreat to the higher summits, forecasters says. Cooler and drier for the rest of the area on Thursday.
