Freeze warning in effect in St. Lawrence County

A freeze warning remains in effect through 8 a.m. in St. Lawrence County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 27 were expected overnight in parts of the North Country with most places dipping into the mid-30s, NWS says.

Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing, forecasters say.

Temps will warm into the low 60s today, the service says. Overnight tonight the low will be around 44.

Highs on Saturday will be near 60 with mostly cloudy skies, NWS says.

The forecast through next Thursday is as follows:

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Northeast wind 7 to 13 mph.

Sunny, with a high near 55. Northeast wind 11 to 13 mph.

Patchy frost after 2am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 33. Northeast wind 5 to 7 mph.

Patchy frost before 9am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 59. Northeast wind 3 to 7 mph.
