OGDENSBURG — Firefighters made a quick knockdown of a fire on Lafayette Street Sunday, according to Ogdensburg Professional Firefighters Local 1799.
At 2:31 p.m. firefighters responded with a crew to a structure fire in the 700 block of Lafayette Street, the department said.
Heuevlton and Morristown Fire were dispatched to the scene simultaneously, and Morristown diverted to OFD station.
Upon arrival, the assistant chief requested an all call of all off duty personnel from the OFD.
Once the fire was controlled on the outside, firefighters made entry into the building. The blaze was deemed under control by 2:47 p.m.
Crews then worked on looking for extension and performing overhaul, the Facebook page said.
Heuvelton and Morristown was released from standby at 3:55 p.m. and 4 p.m. OFD was back in service at 4:20 p.m.
Assistance also provided by OPD, OVRS and County Car 9, the Facebook page said.
The fire is still under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
