CANTON — An Edwards man was sentenced in St. Lawrence County court Friday, Dec. 2 to ten years in prison on drug and weapons charges.
St. Lawrence County District Attorney Gary Pasqua said that Caleb Serrano, 29 was sentenced for second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.
Serrano was sentenced to a ten year determinate term of incarceration for the drug offense with a five-year period of post release supervision.
He was also sentenced to 3 to 6 years on the weapons conviction.
Both sentences are to run concurrently.
Serrano was convicted following a trial on Oct. 6.
Evidence at the trail established that on Oct. 8 Serrano was traveling on State Highway 812 in Oswegatchie when he was found to possess more than 10 grams of methamphetamine and an unregistered handgun.
