Weak high pressure building over the St. Lawrence Valley today will provide the region with a dry but chilly end to the weekend with wet weather returning late tonight through Monday, perhaps starting as a little snow across the northern Adirondacks, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Expect a high today around 45 with mostly sunny skies, forecasters say. The overnight low will be around 33 with a chance of rain and snow showers overnight.
After a cool and rainy start to the work week, quieter weather is expected for the remainder of the forecast period with high pressure generally dominating and temperatures just slightly below normal, NWS says.
The forecast through Saturday is as follows:
Monday
Rain. High near 43. East wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday Night
Rain likely before 8pm, then a chance of showers between 8pm and 11pm. Cloudy, with a low around 32. West wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tuesday
Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
Tuesday Night
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. South wind 3 to 7 mph.
Wednesday
Mostly cloudy, with a high near 51. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
