To the Editor:

"If you get your news from conservative media, Trump-Russia story is still 'fake,'" is the headline of a July 27, 2017 North Country Public Radio story, in which the "mainstream media," and the "mainstream press," are contrasted favorably with "right-wing media sources," "conservative media," "conservative outlets," "conservative radio," the "conservative media narrative," and "right-wing talk show[s]." There is no mention of liberal or left-wing media, because in the minds of the journalists at NCPR, the leftist worldview is the normal, conventional one and therefore mainstream.

The gist of the article is that the "right-wing media" has brainwashed gullible Upstate New Yorkers into doubting the Democratic Party's Trump-Russia collusion narrative.

To make the point, the article features a Dartmouth College professor who "says the conservative media has worked strategically since the election to counter-narrate and discredit Russia coverage, even as developments have grown more serious."

And to do his bit in the Democratic Party's Trump-Russia collusion disinformation-campaign, the NCPR journalist informs the reader that "[s]urveys show that roughly 40 percent of the country still don’t think the Russians tried to influence the presidential campaign – despite reports from U.S. intelligence agencies."

What reports is the journalist talking about? The Steele dossier? Serious developments indeed.

The writer of a recent letter to North Country Now titled "Speak up or risk losing NCPR, says Massena resident" defies anyone to legitimize with facts Rep. Elise Stefanik's critique of NCPR. The facts are that North Country Public Radio is a proudly left-wing station, a Democratic Party propaganda organ whose journalists would agree with Leon Trotsky that the Party is always right.
