BOCES Seaway Tech Center, Norwood, announces monthly student honors

NORWOOD -- The Seaway Career & Technical Education Center in Norwood is pleased to announce Victoria Bisnett as the Potsdam Rotary Club Student of the Month for November 2020.

Bisnett is a student in the Education & Human Services Program from Canton Central School District and is the daughter of Amy Tiernan.

The Education & Human Services program is a two-year program that focuses on human development. In addition, vital career and professional skills are learned allowing students to be successful in a variety of future career paths.

Bisnett has been involved in the preschool program where she created and implemented age appropriate lesson plans as well as helped maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.

“Toria has really tried to submerge herself in her work and is an active participant in our group discussions and activities," said instructor Kayla Merchant. "She has really pushed herself academically this year and continues to grow as a student."

Students selected a Program Student of the Month for their class at Seaway Tech include Daniel Manor III, Potsdam, building trades; Riley White, Massena, cosmetology; Brooke White, Massena, health careers; Ryan Emlaw, Norwood-Norfolk, HVAC/R; James Hissman, Canton, natural resource management; Samantha Foster, Brasher Falls, software development and business design.
