The Mockingbirds
HEUVELTON: The Mockingbirds will perform at Pickens Hall & General Store, 83 State St., 2-4:30 p.m.; members of the band include Barb Heller, Carter Houk, Don Woodcock, Camilla Ammirati and George Dodge; group will play bluegrass covers, requests, and acoustic music; admission costs $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
Composition recital
POTSDAM: Faculty composition recital, 7:30 p.m., Sarah M. Snell Music Theater, Crane School of Music; free; featuring a program of works composed entirely by professors, performed by Crane faculty and students; pieces by Phil Salathé, Joe Sferra, Jerod Sommerfeldt, Tim Sullivan and Gregory Wanamaker.
