NCPR hosting local virtual panel discussion Thursday on medical aid in dying with Diane Rehm

CANTON — North Country Public Radio (NCPR) and WPBS-TV are hosting a virtual panel discussion and preview for the public featuring long-time NPR host Diane Rehm, on Thursday, April 22 at 6 p.m.

Rehm’s new book and documentary, “When My Time Comes,” focuses on the growing movement in support of medical aid in dying (“MAiD”).

An excerpt from the documentary will be screened, followed by a panel discussion moderated by NCPR’s North Country Bookmarks host Jessica Lawrence.

Joining Diane and Jessica on the panel will be Diana Woodhouse, Ph.D., CEO of Hospice of Jefferson County, Udo Schuklenk, Ph.D., Professor of Philosophy at Queen’s University and Ontario Research Chair in Bioethics, and Rev. Dr. Shaun Whitehead, Chaplain, St. Lawrence University.

The event is free and open to all.

The documentary “When My Time Comes” will be shown on WPBS-TV on Sunday, April 25 at 4 p.m.
