BRASHER – Haunted hayrides are once again being offered in Brasher Falls to raise funds for the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce, after a two-year hiatus due to COVID.
The rides go through fields and woods, with many live costumed characters lurking to greet or scare their guests.
Farm owners Edward and Kimberly Russell, at 94 Leary Flint Rd, Brasher Falls, have been hosting the haunted rides for about 13 years.
We have increased the event this year to four weekends, instead of the usual three weekends, with the final weekend being Friday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 8., said Kimberly Russell.
“We have had 3,081 people after the first three weekends. We are hoping to raise $16,000 total by the end of next weekend.
“We want to increase the amount of funds raised to help offset the losses from not hosting the event the last two years. The Chamber uses the money for the local food pantry, school scholarships, and our Christmas program,” she said.
Non-scary rides for the littles start at 5:30 p.m., with scary rides beginning at dusk. The last tickets will be sold at 10 p.m.
The cost is $5 per person.
