CANTON -- The members of the Fiberistas quilt group will share two of their most recent slice quilts at The TAUNY Center, 53 Main St. on Saturday, March 9, from 2:30-4 p.m.
TAUNY will host a presentation with some of the quilters who participated in the project starting at 2:30 p.m., followed by a reception.
The Fiberistas are an innovative local group of quilters whose projects challenge them to experiment with new techniques and explore the potential of quilts as art.
Slice quilts begin with a photograph cut into slices.
Each slice is given to a different quilter to make.
Finished slices are brought back together to make a single image.
Past work by the Fiberistas previously on display at The TAUNY Center included a sugarbush slice quilt in 2018 and a slice quilt of Canton’s Main Street a few years prior.
