POTSDAM – Voices from different faiths will join together to celebrate the music and texts of various faith traditions in Potsdam and in Canton at the annual Festival of Sacred Music and Text on Sunday, March 26, at 3 p.m. at the Potsdam United Methodist Church, 26 Main St. Participants include choirs, musicians and readers from a variety of local congregations.
Admission to the concert is free and open to the public. A dessert reception will follow.
This year’s concert will include music and text reading from the First Presbyterian Church of Potsdam; St Mary’s Catholic Church; Congregation Beth-El; the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton; the Potsdam Methodist Church; the Potsdam Masjid; the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; and the First Church of Christ Scientist.
Sponsored by the Potsdam Interfaith Community (PIC), the annual event is an opportunity for congregations to come together from different faith backgrounds.
