WADDINGTON — The St. Lawrence River is a brand-new stop for the East Coast Watercross as part of the 2021 tour featuring jet ski races.

Racing will occur on Saturday June 26 and Sunday June 27 at Waddington Beach, 332 River Rd., with more than classes competing. There will be a variety of makes, models, skill levels and it all will happen on a closed course constructed of 20-30 buoys making up a racecourse on the water.

The event attracts national athletes and locals interested in competing, can enter with their personal watercraft, by registering on www.EastCoastWatercross.com.

"Waddington is an ideal spot for hosting a tour stop due to the expansive waterfront and welcoming locals” said Christopher Yates, President, East Coast Watersports.

The weekend event will be open to spectators, with a unique vantage point from Lieshman Point, overlooking the “field” on the River.

“Waddington looks forward to sharing the beautiful St. Lawrence River with athletes who may be experiencing this part of the world for the first time”, said Town Supervisor Alex Hammond.

The beach will be open for the event from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with racing from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking is free and open to the public.

The event is being hosted by the Town of Waddington in partnership with the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce / Visit St. Lawrence County.
