With the health and safety of customers and employees in mind (due to the coronavirus pandemic) Massena Electric’s offices will also be closed until further notice, a Massena Electric press release said.

Massena Electric will continue its regular billing practices during this time. Residential customers experiencing financial difficulties should contact the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) at 315-379-2303. They may be able assist you in paying your electric bill.

Massena Electric strongly encourages customers to utilize these alternative methods when paying their monthly bill, such as check or money order through the conveniently located night drops at the Town Hall (60 Main St.) and in front of the MED building at 71 E. Hatfield St.); payments are always welcome through the mail, through personal on-line banking or on-line bill payment at www.massenaelectric.com

Do do not mail cash or use cash when using the night drop.

Massena Electric will also temporarily waive all fees for using on-line bill pay through www.massenaelectric.com. The fee waiver will be on payments made until April 30. Massena Electric is working with its on-line payment processor to have the fee waived at the time the payment is made. Until this is set up by the provider an on-the-bill credit will be applied for fees charged.

Customers should remain alert for possible scams related to payments. Massena Electric will not call customers to demand payment or offer discounts for phone payments. Massena Electric does not take payments over the phone; this includes asking customers to pay with gift cards or prepaid credit cards.
