POTSDAM – A new JC Penney catalog store will be opening in Northern Interiors, 46 Market St.
“People will be able to do what they can do at any catalog center,” said store manager Jackie Bartholomew. “They can place orders and pick them up when they arrive, make returns and exchanges, pick up gift cards, make credit payments, and pick up catalogs.”
Bartholomew says an official ribbon-cutting will be held at the store on Aug. 31 at noon, and they are making the necessary accommodations for the center in the store.
“We are revamping the store to add a kiosk and paint to Penney’s specifications, we’re receiving the equipment we will need, and installing telephone lines.”
She says that in conjunction with the opening of the center, customers can enter to win one of four $100 gift certificates they will be awarding.
The store will actually be set up to begin getting orders for customer pickup when a toll-free number is activated on Aug. 27. The number is (800) 222-6161.
The hours of the catalog center are the same as Northern Interior’s hours, Monday and Tuesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
