POTSDAM — Downtown Potsdam has undergone several changes in recent months, including some business closings.

A long-time hotel reopened after an extended closure, a local dentist office will keep people smiling proud from a new location and two local businesses have ceased operations.

First Crush Closes

First Crush Bistro is going out of business.

The owners announced the closure in a Monday morning, Aug. 3 Facebook post where they cite “the current global situation.”

“Unfortunately, we have had to make a tough decision—one that we have gone back and forth on dozens of times—but one that is best for our family. Due to the current global situation, Crush Bistro will be closing permanently, joining the growing list of almost 16,000 restaurants that have closed their doors for good,” the post reads. “We want to thank each and every one of you that have supported us on this journey. Seeing familiar faces walk in the restaurant on a regular basis was a great feeling, and we did our best to make all of you feel like family. We also want to thank our staff for the hard work they put in for us, we could not have done it without you. The restaurant business is a demanding one but being able to serve the North Country has been extremely rewarding and a great blessing.”

The restaurant was at 32 Market St.
