MORRISTOWN – A veteran of World War II’s brutal Battle of the Bulge will speak at the Gateway Museum at 7 p.m. Aug. 11.
Bob Shelato was with Patton’s 3rd Army during one of the bloodiest battles of the war in Europe, and was called back to Europe after the war to be decorated with a Luxembourg Medal of Honor and the Luxembourg American Embassies’ Medallion.
Shelato will show action pictures portraying his many war experiences and a monument dedication ceremony where he was a guest speaker.
Shelato is one of the few people left alive to give eye witness to this great period in American history.
