MASSENA -- A workers’ Memorial Day celebration will be held Sunday, April 28 at 1 p.m.
A rally will be held at the intersection of North Main, Andrews and Phillips Streets at the workers’ memorial monument.
“Each day in the country, on average, 13 workers die because of job injuries – women and men who go to work, never to return home to their families and loved ones. This does not include those workers who die from occupational diseases, estimated to be 50,000 each year – an average of 137 deaths each day,” according to the 2012 edition of “Death on the Job: The Toll of Neglect” by the AFL-CIO.
The memorial celebration will honor workers who lost their lives or were injured at work.
