HOGANSBURG -- The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe, Heart to Heart Fitness, and Let’s Get Healthy Program will be sponsoring their first annual Women’s Wellness Day in Hogansburg on May 11 at Heart to Heart Fitness Center, 391 Frogtown Rd.
The event is hosting several vendors from local community wellness programs from Massena to Malone including but not limited to: Healthy Way, The Indigenous Spa, Bear’s Den Gift Shop, Nature’s Gift, Massena Karate Club, In Touch with Health from Alice Hyde Medical Center, Comlinks, the St. Regis Mohawk Outreach Program, the St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Clinic, and Mohawk Community Health.
These vendors will be providing information on their goods and services on a wide range of topics concerning women’s health. Topics to be covered include diabetes, nutrition, cardiac and mental health, fitness, cholesterol, skin care, stress relief and management, self defense, breast cancer, and wound and foot care. Some vendors will be providing testing of certain medical conditions at no charge to attendants. Cholesterol screening will be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Heart to Heart Fitness Center will also be open for visitors to try the cardio and strength training equipment and participate in aerobic and fitness classes provided by instructors. Attendants are encouraged to experience the center’s facilities and to bring a change of shoes and clothing to be comfortable during their workout. Locker rooms will be available for use.
Women’s Wellness Day is free to the public and parking is available.
