HOPKINTON — A former Hopkinton resident is accused of stealing and crashing a vehicle Saturday, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Officers said they charged 36-year old Rachel L. Nickels, no current address, with fourth-degree grand larceny, felony, second-degree criminal contempt and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
Deputies said they responded to a report of a rollover accident on SH 11B and discovered Nickels had drove on a suspended license and violated an order of protection by stealing the vehicle from a protected party.
She was arraigned virtually by Piercefield court Judge Kopp and released on her own recognizance, officers said.
