MASSENA – The Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce and the Massena Winter Carnival Committee have announced the winners for the Parade, 5k Walk/Run and Think Snow Win Some Dough Raffle.
The Winter Carnival Parade was held on Friday, Feb. 4 and the winners are as follows: Trinity Catholic School-Best Float-Originality; J. W. Leary Junior High School-Best Float-Theme; American Legion Post #79-Best Marching Unit; Massena Nursery School-Best Theme; and Jefferson Elementary School-Most Spirit.
The Winter Carnival 5K Walk/Run was held on Saturday, Feb. 5 and the winners are as follows: 1st Place (Male) - Dan Dominie (22:01) and 1st Place (Female) - Amy Hollister (27:12). The oldest competitor - Hugh Wilson (72) came in 5th (28:43).
The winning ticket in the Think Snow Win Some Dough was drawn at the Winter Carnival Closing Ceremonies held on Sunday, Feb. 6 at the NYPA Hawkins Point Visitors Center.
The winner was Judy Brockway who won $1,340. This raffle was co-sponsored by 1340 WMSA and the Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce.
