UU Church holiday pageant
CANTON: Unitarian Universalist Church’s annual holiday pageant, 10:30 a.m., 3½ E. Main St., across from the park; pageant will celebrate many different midwinter festivals of light: Hanukkah, Diwali, Solstice, Kwanzaa, and more; stories will include everything from sword fights, to powerful gods and goddesses, to Mary and Joseph; church members, friends, and the community are invited; offering will be taken during the service to benefit the Church and Community program; Sunday service and religious education classes begin at 10:30 a.m.; info: www.uucantonny.org.
Nine Lessons and Carols
COLTON: Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, 5 p.m., Zion Episcopal Church, 91 Main St.; all welcome, traditional service designed for congregational singing; pot-luck supper; info: 315-353-2331.
Kris Kringle
POTSDAM: Ole Kris Kringle, (a.k.a. Santa Claus), sponsored by the Potsdam Kiwanis Club, will be at Chilly Delights, Main Street, noon-3 p.m.; attendees can Take photos with your own camera; donations will be accepted to help the Potsdam Kiwanis Club Programs; info: 315-265-3917, ask for Kris Kringle; Kringle will man the donation jar at the Roxy Theatre library at 4:30 p.m. next to the Christmas tree.
Lessons and carols
BUCKS BRIDGE: Traditional lessons and carols service, 4 p.m., Buck’s Bridge Community Church; public invited, Christmas carols, readings, refreshments to follow.
Polar Express movie
MASSENA: Polar Express Movie Adventure, pajama party, noon and 4 p.m. movie screenings, St. Lawrence Centre, free hot cocoa stand; $20 per child, includes movie, a bell, a golden ticket, Polar Express-themed photo by LaPosh Photography.
Carols, lessons service
