GOUVERNEUR -- Gouverneur officials say water may me discolored in the village next week when the Department of Public Works begins flushes hydrants.
Hydrant flushing will be done during the night, from 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 26 until 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, and then again from 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 until 7:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28.
Residents may notice a loss of water pressure and a slight discoloration of the water. While the water is safe to drink, residents are encouraged to hold off on doing white laundry.
The Town of Gouverneur will also be coordinating their hydrant flushing at the same time.
If you have any further questions, you can contact the Department of Public Works at 287-0110.
