Village DPW Supervisor Greg Thompson told North County This Week that break was fixed by 11 a.m. Monday.
The break was discovered around 2 a.m. according to a DPW worker on the scene.
“We had bolts break off of a gate valve overnight,” Thompson said. Thompson said the bolts were rotten.
“We were able to replace the bolts and stop the water,” the DPW supervisor said.
The break caused an excessive amount of water to flood onto the street down to Market Street. and drivers were told to exercise caution while work was underway by the village crew.
Traffic cones directed traffic around the flooded area.
