Unseasonably warm temperatures in the 60s are expected today and Wednesday, before a storm system brings gusty winds, near record warm temperatures, showers, and river rises across St. Lawrence County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Expect a high temperature today around 62 with sunny skies, NWS says. Winds will be 13-18 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph. Highs will be in the 60s again on Wednesday before cooling off.

Temperatures will cool significantly to below freezing Wednesday night behind a strong cold front, potentially causing a flash freeze, the service says.

Thursday will be cold again with continued gusty winds, but we will swing back toward unseasonably warm weather by the weekend, NWS says.

Showers, mainly after 11am. High near 62. Breezy, with a south wind 17 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
