WADDINGTON – Two members of Waddington Cub Scout Pack 38 recently received Community Service Awards from the Northern Lights District of Longhouse Council of Boy Scouts of America.
Brody Baldwin, son of Chris and Kelly Baldwin, Waddington, and Connor Laforce, son of Matt and Brit Laforce, Chase Mills, and Nicole and Kyle Smith, Waddington, received the awards for their recent book drive which was held in conjunction with Assemblywoman Addie Jenne's annual children's book drive.
The book drive, which was organized by Baldwin as a Scout project to lead others in recycling, ended just before Christmas with a total of 1,083 books.
All books collected went to the Community Development Center in Canton for distribution to in-need families throughout St Lawrence County.
