CANTON -- A Waddington resident was charged after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop on State Highway 68 Sunday, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies.
Leslie J. George, 47, was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing a governmental administration, third-degree fleeing police in a motor vehicle, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and several vehicle and traffic infractions, officers said.
George allegedly refused to comply with lawful orders from deputies and fled the initial traffic stop in his vehicle.
The subject was located a short time later and taken into custody, deputies said.
George was reportedly in possession of methamphetamine when taken into custody, officers said.
Deputies said the subject was cited and released.
