The Department of Veterans Affairs funding is for homeless prevention programs to help veterans and their families.
“We look forward to working with the Veterans Services Officers and the agencies that have been serving these veterans and hopefully we will be able to fill the gaps both financially and service-wise that will help to improve the lives of these veterans,” said United Veterans of America President and CEO Jack Downing.
More information about the VA’s homeless programs is available at www.va.gov/homeless. Details about the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program can be found at www.va.gov/homeless/ssvf.asp.
The announcement of the program funding came from the office of Rep. Bill Owens, 23rd District congressman.
