OGDENSBURG - The Society of the United Helpers recently granted three high school seniors from Canton, Heuvelton and Ogdensburg the Helen S. Randles Scholarship Award.
Kaylynn M. Hallahan, of Hugh C. Williams High School in Canton; Linsay E. Tennant
of Heuvelton Central School; and Joel A. King of Ogdensburg Free Academy are this year's recipients.
Hallahan plans to attend Elmira University in the fall, majoring in nursing.
She will graduate from Hugh C. Williams, Canton Central School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society and the National Thespian Society.
In addition to her studies, Hallahan participates as a member of the track and field team, is a dancer, and an avid community volunteer.
She is the daughter of Carol and Brian Hallahan.
Linsay Tennant will graduate from Heuvelton Central School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society and is studying in the Allied Health Program through Northwest Tech BOCES.
She plans to attend SUNY Plattsburgh and plans to pursue an education in nursing.
In addition to her studies, Tennant is involved in Marching Band, the school's Encore! theater program, chorus, soccer, lacrosse, and cheerleader squad.
Tennant is the daughter of Sylvia and Kurt Tennant.
Joel A. King will graduate from Ogdensburg Free Academy, where he is a member of the National Honor Society and is enrolled in the Allied Health program.
King holds a part-time job and has earned Academic All-Northern recognition in three sports: football, basketball and baseball.
He plans to continue his education at St. Joseph's College of Nursing in Syracuse, and wishes eventually to become a nurse anesthetist.
King is the son of Darin and Debbie King of Ogdensburg.
