Boating safety certification is now required for all ages to operate a jet ski.
A boating safety course is also required for young adults ages 10 to 18 to operate a boat alone. This year, effective May 1, it is required that anyone, born on or after May 1, 1996, must have a boating safety class to operate a motorized boat unsupervised.
