POTSDAM -- A raffle, which will afford the winner the choice of a pre-decorated tree or a $350 gift certificate, will be held Dec. 17 in memory of 12-year-old Garrett Phillips who was found murdered in October 2011.
Two raffle winners will be chosen. The first winner will have the choice of either a pre-decorated tree valued at $1,200 or a $350 gift certificate to the Ashley House.
The second place winner will receive whichever prize remains.
There are two trees on display until the drawing -- one at the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and one at Ashley House, Norwood.
The winner will receive one of the trees, decorated by On the Edge Designs, complete with decorations that feature a New Years theme.
The tickets will be $5 each and are available for sale at the Potsdam Chamber or from the Ashley House.
The proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Garrett Phillips Reward Foundation and the Norwood-Norfolk-Raymondville food bank.
