WATERTOWN -- Transgender activist and actress Lavern Cox will present “Ain’t I A Woman: My Journey to Womanhood” 8 p.m. May 7 in Jefferson Community College’s McVean Gym, co-sponsored by St. Lawrence University.
She will explore how the intersections of race, class and gender affect the lives of trans women of color.
She tells the story of her challenges along her journey to womanhood, professional achievement, self-acceptance and love.
Cox plays the character Sophia in the show “Orange is the New Black.”
Tickets are $10.
