Total eclipse programs offered at children’s museum

POTSDAM — The North Country Children’s Museum, 10 Raymond St., is hosting a series of Total Eclipse Programs in its newly renovated classroom.

The series includes Saturday Science Programs for families in March and April at 11 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2-3 p.m. leading up to a public, outdoor Total Solar Eclipse Program on April 8.

Eclipse related programs include: March 9, Make a balloon rocket; March 16, Cup Drop Experiment; March 23, Anti-gravity in a bottle; March 30, Make and launch a rocket; April 6, Pop a balloon using the sun’s energy.

On Monday, April 8, from 1-3:30 p.m. the Children’s Museum will host a free, outdoor program in Garner Park near the museum. Attendees will be given special eclipse-viewing glasses and museum educators will run science activities.

Total Eclipse Programs at the Children’s Museum are included with the cost of admission and membership thanks to the Simon’s Foundation.

Museum hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
