CANTON – NCPR’s longtime morning host, Todd Moe, is retiring after a quarter-century of waking up the North Country.

The station is hosting a retirement party to celebrate his illustrious career as an announcer, reporter, and staple of our region’s mornings.

The retirement celebration party is open to the public and will be held on Tuesday, May 28th from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Legends Room of Appleton Arena on the St. Lawrence University Campus in Canton. Tickets are free but registration is required. Only 100 total tickets are available, so reserve your ticket now at NCPR.org/todd, or by calling (315) 388-6277, option 1.

Attendees can take photos with Todd, get his autograph, meet with other NCPR staff, and receive a commemorative gift. A special limited-edition Todd Moe travel mug and the station’s first-ever Northern Light t-shirts will be available for purchase at the event. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Those who cannot attend but wish to make a tribute gift and select one of these limited edition thank-you gifts can do so atNCPR.org/todd.

Additionally, listeners and fans are encouraged to share their favorite Todd Moe stories and memories by writing or sending a voice memo to radio@ncpr.org.

“Twenty-five years is a remarkable amount of time to have spent working at this remarkable station,” said Moe. “Forty years in radio - as a student and a professional - is also pretty amazing. I’m proud of the work I’ve done at NCPR.” Todd Moe was hired as a general assignment reporter in 1998 and elevated to his current position two years later.

“Todd represents not just the best of North Country Public Radio, but the best of the North Country,” said station manager Mitch Teich. “He's someone who truly cares about what he does and about the community he serves. For more than 25 years, he's approached his work with curiosity, empathy, good humor, and compassion for the North Country. We're all really going to miss him."

Moe’s final day on the air will be Friday, June 7. He’ll step away as Northern Light co-host and local Morning Edition host when the program concludes at 9 a.m. that day. His Northern Light co-host Monica Sandrezcki will take over the role as local host for NPR’s Morning Edition. NCPR has begun a national search for a new Northern Light co-host and arts reporter/producer.
