At 5:30 a.m. recently my entire family was woken up by an obnoxious motorcycle being driven past our home. I know law enforcement officers do issue tickets to people for “insufficient exhaust” on their vehicles, and some of these folks are working minimum wage jobs and cannot afford a new muffler. Yet people who can afford a $20,000 cruiser and the aftermarket decibel killer pipes are allowed to disturb the peace? These drivers will claim that loud pipes save lives and yet they chose not to wear safe riding apparel such as a full helmet, abrasion-resistant jacket, gloves, etc. Why should they be allowed to disturb the peace because they want their bike to sound more powerful? Law enforcement why are you not ticketing them?
