POTSDAM — Cinema 10 continues the Spring 2024 season on Monday, March 25 with a screening of The Disappearance of Shere Hite, a 2023 film directed by Nicole Newnham, at 7:15 pm at the Roxy in Potsdam.
The Hite Report was one of the most controversial books of its time.
Exploring and liberating feminine sexuality in a way that had previously never been seen, the book and its author, Shere Hite, were the subject of intense criticism and scrutiny.
A new documentary from the award-winning director of Crip Camp (2020 – Nicole Newnham) examines the book's legacy and its author's disappearance from the public eye.
Michael Levine of Bust Magazine called the film “An intimate examination of one of the most important feminists of the 20th century.”
The film is rated R and contains sexual material, nudity and some language.
General admission is $6.50 for individuals and $55 for season tickets.
Students and senior citizens tickets are $5.50 for individuals and $45 for season tickets. Season tickets are sharable.
