Middletown, RI – Brooke Susac made 20 saves but a third period goal from Lexie Anderson proved to be the difference as host Salve Regina University earned a 1-0 win v. the SUNY Canton women's hockey team in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action on Saturday.
The Roos move to 1-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in CHC play, while the Seahawks improve to 1-3-0 and 1-1-0.
Salve Regina outshot the Roos 9-2 in the first period, while Canton held a 7-4 edge in the third period. The Roos penalty kill went 1-for-1 as that was the only penalty committed in the contest.
Jennifer O'Connell stopped all 16 saves she made in the shutout.
The women's hockey team is back in action on Friday when it hosts Nichols College at 4 p.m.
