CANTON -- The SUNY Canton women’s volleyball team ran their winning streak to three games with commanding 3-0 wins over Castleton State College and Wells College on Saturday.
The Roos moved to 3-0 as they beat Castleton in the morning 25-8, 25-7 and 25-10 and then toppled Wells in the afternoon 25-16, 25-11, 25-5.
In the morning’s match sophomore Mackenzie Mynter (Churchville, N.Y.) distributed 28 assists and had five service aces including three straight in that dominating second set.
Mynter also had six kills and four digs in a solid all-around performance. Freshman Morgan Bills (Walworth, N.Y.) added nine kills in the Roos effort. Senior Abbey Shoen (Waddington, N.Y.) posted seven digs, five kills and five assists.
Senior Danielle Swanston (Burke, N.Y.) contributed six kills, five digs and three aces. Sophomore Jessica Reynolds (Oakville, Ontario) had eight digs and four kills and Kiana Archer (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) registered 10 digs and four aces.
Mynter had 25 more assists along with six digs and three kills against Wells. Bills added eight kills, Reynolds had seven and Swanston contributed six digs, five kills and three service aces.
The Roos are next in action next weekend when they travel to Keuka College for matches against the host Storm and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
