Canton, NY – SUNY Canton Head Men's Soccer Coach Tim Penrod has announced that the program will hold open tryouts for this year's team on Tuesday, August 25th.

"We are once again looking forward to allowing non-recruited students the opportunity to join our program this fall. While our staff works incredibly hard to get out and identify qualified student-athletes for the program, every now and then someone slips through the cracks," Penrod said. "These tryouts are an opportunity for those individuals to come out and show they can contribute to the team and help in our continued success this fall."

Individuals interested in trying out must take the following steps:

1.) Contact Coach Penrod at penrodt@canton.edu. In the email, please include your name, student ID number, year at Canton, your high school and/or club team, position, and number of years that you've played varsity soccer.

2.) Complete the paperwork attached to this email and return it to Coach Penrod by August 23rd.

3.) Provide proof of a physical examination within the last six months.All required steps must be completed prior to tryouts. The August 25th date is the only day for tryouts. There is no late tryout date, so be sure to get everything required in on time. Once all required paperwork has been submitted, the coaching staff will let you know the exact time tryouts begin.
