CANTON -- The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team went to overtime for the second day in a row as the Roos and Franklin Pierce University tied 2-2 Saturday night.
After a scoreless first 20 minutes, the Raven jumped ahead 1-0 scoring just 30 seconds into the second period on a goal from Roscoe Sweeney.
The Roos answered six minutes later when Rob Liggio (Canton, N.Y.) scored a power play goal from Darren Camp (Canton, N.Y.) and J.R. Lafferty (Williamstown, N.J.).
Dan Cibelli (Liverpool, N.Y.) put the home team on top 2-1 when he connected at the 8:12 mark of the second from Thomas Freeman (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.).
That lead until the 6:48 mark of the final period when the Ravens' Patrick Shortt scored to even the game at two apiece.
Morgan Barr had 28 saves for SUNY Canton while Dave O'Brien had 17 saves in 30 minutes and Patrick Dunn had 20 saves in the remainder of the game.
The two teams face each other again today at 2 p.m.
