NORFOLK —The Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry is offering appreciation to Stewart’s Shops for a 2023 Holiday Matching Grant of $800.

“Once again, our communities have been extremely generous in their Holiday Giving.

Stewart’s has had this program in place since 1986, and this year alone, they had almost 2000 applications for this annual support,” said Patricia Matthews, treasurer of the Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry.

Officials say the NRFP is a five day, 15 meal pantry that provides food to cover three meals per day for five days to those in need.

Distribution items include cereal, oatmeal, milk cards, bread, canned and frozen fruit and vegetables, peanut butter, pastas, hamburger and tuna helper, hot dogs, ground meat, chicken, pork, beef, rice, pancake mix, mashed potatoes, soups, eggs, cheese, pasta sauce, nuts and occasionally hygiene items.

Volunteers also began delivering food to seniors in 2021 as part of the pilot Senior Squad Delivery Program in conjunction with two other food pantries in St. Lawrence County.

Food is delivered each month to seniors who lack transportation in Norfolk and Raymondville.

Distributions occur on the third Saturday of each month in Norfolk at the Norfolk United Methodist Church.
