Buffalo, NY – Peyton Stafne (St. Louis Park, MN) stopped a career-high 46 shots but the women's hockey team was unable to get the offense going falling 8-1 to host Buffalo State on Saturday afternoon.
Kara Goodwin scored twice and Christine Harris added a power play goal as Buffalo State led 3-0 midway through the second period. Sydney Kinder (New York, NY) continued her strong play scoring the Roos (2-18-1) first short-handed goal at 17:41 of the second. The goal was her third in the last four contests.
The Bengals (7-5-2) tacked on five more scores in the final period including two more from Goodwin. Stafne stopped 46 shots, while Megan Sackett made 17 saves for Buffalo State.
The women's ice hockey team is back in action on January 30th when it visits Salve Regina at 7:30 p.m.
