CANTON — St. Lawrence University’s Carnegie 10 International Film Series will screen The Nile Hilton Incident on Thursday, April 11, from 6-8 p.m. in Carnegie Hall Room 10.
In this movie, a police officer in Cairo investigates the murder of a famous club singer at the Nile Hilton Hotel, and what initially seems to be a crime of passion becomes a case that concerns the powerful Egyptian elite.
The movie is inspired by the true story of the Lebanese singer Suzanne Tamim, whose 2008 murder led to the prosecution of an Egyptian businessman. The film will be presented in Arabic with English subtitles.
